A guide through our special drinks

At Kafei we are known for our specialty coffee and matcha latte in Brussels. But have you ever tried or been curious about our other special drinks? Let’s dive into our different drinks and how they are different!

HOJICHA - CHOCOJICHA

Hojicha is (unlike matcha) a roasted green tea. Due to the process of roasting, its caffeine content is pretty low which makes it ideal for any time of the day (for those that do not tolerate caffeine after 2pm). It has a nutty, roasted flavor and we recommend to drink with any type of sweetener to enhance its flavor. This is why we are also serving a Chocojicha which is a perfect mix of hot chocolate and Hojicha, balancing sweetness and savor to spice up your Hot chocolate.

MATCHA LEMONADE

If you are a matcha latte lover, it is a great way to still have your matcha intake when you are not in the mood for a milk-based beverage, especially during the spring and summer when you want something refreshing. If you are not a matcha lover, do not worry it does not taste like grass, it can give you a kick of energy and also have the fun of a lemonade!

GOMA LATTE

The Goma latte is actually a black sesame latte (Goma means sesame in Japanese and also it sounded better). Black sesame has a nutty, slightly better taste and a creamy texture. It is low in caffeine which makes it a great all-day drink when you want that comforting drink but not a coffee. It is a pretty popular drink in Asia for its taste and health benefits. It can be enjoyed hot or cold. (also the black latte looks really cool)

GENMAICHA

The latest latte addition to our menu is Genmaicha, a blend of green tea and popped rice. Because of the green tea, it has the same benefits of matcha but with less caffeine. Its surname is the popcorn tea because of taste of the popped rice which makes it a very original drink yet while still having the relaxation effect.
